Bulls Charge Ahead As NGX Shatters Records As Market Cap Surpasses N50trn

On Monday, the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) recorded N80.81 billion decline in the bourse’s market capitalisation.

The NGX market capitalisation decreased from N160.44 trillion recorded on Friday to N160.36 trillion.

This was on the back of a 126.09 basis points loss recorded by the all-share index (ASI), which declined from 250,330.92 ASI to 250,204.83 ASI.

Investors exchanged 800.46 million shares in 87,096 deals, valued at N37.04 billion, down from the previous day’s 1.08 billion shares traded in 65,744 deals, worth N44.28 billion.

Top Five Gainers

  • Oando share price increased by N4.70 kobo, from N47 to N51.70 kobo per share.
  • UPL’s share value grew by N0.50 kobo, from N5 to N5.50 kobo per share.
  • Deap Capital’s share appreciated by N0.54 kobo, to end trading at N5.96 kobo, having opened with N5.42 kobo.
  • May & Baker’s share ended trading at N52 per share, from N47.30 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N4.70 kobo.
  • TransExpress’ share value was up by N0.70 kobo, after closing at N7.76 kobo, from N7.06 per share.

Top Five Losers

  • NCR share price depreciated by N17.90 kobo, dwindling from N179.10 kobo to N161.20 kobo per share.
  • Zichis recorded a N2.94 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N26.49 kobo, after opening with N29.43 kobo per share.
  • IMG recorded a N4.20 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N38.10 kobo, after opening with N42.30 kobo per share.
  • Sovereign Insurance lost N0.29 kobo in its share price, to sell at N2.65 kobo, down from N2.94 kobo per share.
  • DAAR Communications reported a decline of N0.22 kobo, from the previous share price of N2.25 kobo, to end trading at N2.03 per share.

Top Five Trading Equities

  • UBA reported that 64.97 million shares valued at N2.83 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Fidelity Bank recorded 57.29 million shares valued at N1.31 billion.
  • Access Holdings saw investors trade 42.26 million of its shares valued at N1.08 billion.
  • DAAR Communications recorded 36.70 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N81.76 million.
  • NSLTECH reported that traders exchanged 36.60 million shares valued at N32.97 million.
