Zichis, FTN Cocoa, Others Extend NGX Decline With N1.22trn Loss

International Energy Insurance, Zichis Agro Among Losers As NGX Loses N440bn

The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) dropped further on Friday to N160.44 trillion, from N161.67 trillion on Thursday.

NGX said the market capitalisation fell by N1.22 trillion after the all-share index (ASI) contracted by 1,917.45 basis points.

The all-share index contracted from 252,248.37 ASI to 250,330.92 ASI.

Over 1.08 billion shares were exchanged in 65,744 deals, valued at N44.28 billion, compared to the 852.27 million shares, worth N29.77 billion, traded in 66,016 deals, on Thursday.

Top Five Gainers

  • Associated Bus Company share price increased by N0.57 kobo, from N5.70 kobo to N6.27 kobo per share.
  • May & Baker’s share value grew by N4.30 kobo, from N43 to N47.30 kobo per share.
  • SCOA’s share appreciated by N3, to end trading at N33.05, having opened with N30.05.
  • TransExoress’ share ended trading at N7.06 per share, from N6.42 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.64 kobo.
  • DAAR Communications share value was up by N0.20 kobo, after closing at N2.25 kobo, from N2.05 per share.

Top Five Losers

  • Zichis share price depreciated by N3.26 kobo, dwindling from N32.69 kobo to N29.43 kobo per share.
  • FTN Cocoa recorded a N0.99 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N8.96 kobo, after opening with N9.95 kobo per share.
  • TIP recorded a N3.55 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N32.30 kobo, after opening with N35.85 kobo per share.
  • LivingTrust lost N0.42 kobo in its share price, to sell at N3.83 kobo, down from N4.25 kobo per share.
  • International Insurance Energy reported a decline of N0.30 kobo, from the previous share price of N3.09, to end trading at N2.79 kobo per share.

Top Five Trading Equities

  • Chams reported that 32.85 million shares valued at N1.13 billion were traded on its floor.
  • UBA recorded 61.59 million shares valued at N2.71 billion.
  • First HoldCo saw investors trade 58.65 million of its shares valued at N4.19 billion.
  • NSLTECH recorded 51.87 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N45.50 million.
  • Access Holdings reported that traders exchanged 51.83 million shares valued at N1.33 billion.
