United States President Donald Trump has disclosed that several of America’s leading business executives are accompanying him to China ahead of his high-profile meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Trump made the disclosure in a statement posted on Tuesday night while responding to a report by CNBC claiming that Jensen Huang, chief executive officer of NVIDIA, had not been invited to the business gathering linked to the China visit.
Rejecting the report, Trump said Huang was aboard Air Force One alongside several prominent American business leaders travelling with the U.S. delegation to China.
Join our WhatsApp Channel“CNBC incorrectly reported that the great Jensen Huang, of Nvidia, was not invited to the incredible gathering of the world’s greatest businessmen and women proudly going to China,” Trump said.

He added that Huang was travelling with him “unless I ask him to leave, which is highly unlikely,” describing the report as “fake news.”
Trump said the delegation included Elon Musk, Tim Cook, Larry Fink, Stephen Schwarzman, Kelly Ortberg, Brian Sikes, Jane Fraser, Larry Culp, David Solomon, Sanjay Mehrotra and Cristiano Amon, among others.
Several of the executives lead major American corporations with deep commercial interests in China, particularly in the technology, aviation, banking, manufacturing and agriculture sectors.
Trump said he intended to urge Xi Jinping to further open China’s economy to American businesses during their discussions.
“I will be asking President Xi, a leader of extraordinary distinction, to ‘open up’ China so that these brilliant people can work their magic,” Trump stated.

The U.S. president added that expanding access for American companies in China could significantly strengthen economic relations between both countries.
Trump’s remarks come ahead of his scheduled May 13 to 15 state visit to China, during which both leaders are expected to discuss trade tensions, tariffs, technology competition, artificial intelligence, regional security and broader geopolitical issues.
The visit marks Trump’s first official trip to China since returning to office and is widely viewed as a major diplomatic engagement between Washington and Beijing amid the ongoing strategic rivalry between the world’s two largest economies.
