Over N3.22 trillion was gained in the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) on Monday, as the stock market capitalisation increased to N160.25 trillion.

The NGX market capitalisation increased from the N157.02 trillion recorded on Friday.

In addition, the all-share index (ASI) expanded from 244,670.65 ASI to 250,481.42 ASI, indicating an increase of 5,810.77 basis points.

Traders exchanged N68.45 billion for 1.48 billion shares in 94,834 deals, compared to the 1.06 billion shares traded in 69,996 deals, worth N55.03 billion, on Friday.

Top Five Gainers

  • Livestock share price increased by N0.80 kobo, from N8 to N8.80 kobo per share.
  • International Energy Insurance’s share value grew by N0.26 kobo, from N2.60 kobo to N2.86 kobo per share.
  • RT Briscoe’s share appreciated by N1.50 kobo, to end trading at N16.50 kobo, having opened with N15.
  • FTN Cocoa’s share ended trading at N9.13 kobo per share, from N8.30 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N0.83 kobo.
  • UHOMREIT’s share value was up by N7, after closing at N77, from N70 per share.

Top Five Losers

  • Prestige share price depreciated by N0.16 Kobo, dwindling from N1.60 kobo to N1.44 kobo per share.
  • UPL recorded a N0.40 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N4, after opening with N4.40 kobo per share.
  • Tantalizer recorded a N0.35 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N4.20 kobo, after opening with N4.55 kobo per share.
  • NPF Microfinance Bank lost N0.40 kobo in its share price, to sell at N6, down from N6.40 kobo per share.
  • Mutual Benefits reported a decline of N0.25 kobo from the previous share price of N4.37 kobo, to end trading at N4.12 kobo per share.

Top Five Trading Equities

  • Veritas Kapital reported that 194.54 million shares valued at N299.07 million were traded on its floor.
  • Access Holdings recorded 172.07 million shares valued at N4.17 billion.
  • First HoldCo saw investors trade 131.97 million of its shares valued at N9.79 billion.
  • FCMB recorded 123.89 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N1.41 billion.
  • Champion Brew reported that traders exchanged 82.99 million shares valued at N1.25 billion.
