The market capitalisation of the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), also known as the stock market, surged to N110.23 trillion on Friday, February 6, from the N109.12 trillion reached on Thursday, February 5.
According to the NGX, the market capitalisation increased by N1.10 trillion after the all-share index (ASI) expanded by 1.01 percent or 1,722.13 basis points.

In addition, 953.76 million shares were traded in 51,005 deals, worth N43.08 billion, against the previous day’s 712.98 million shares, valued at N22.26 billion, exchanged in 46,104 deals.
Top five gainers
- Omatek’s share price increased by N0.24 to rise from N2.40 kobo to N2.64 kobo per share.
- Deap Capital’s share value grew by N0.62 kobo, from N6.20 kobo to N6.82 kobo per share.
- Nahco ended trading at N136.40 kobo per share, from N124 per share – indicating an increase of N12.40 kobo.
- LOTUSHAL15’s share appreciated by N19.48 kobo to end trading at N214.34 kobo, having opened with N194.86 kobo.
- ZICHIS Agro’s share value was up by N0.61 kobo, after closing at N6.72 kobo from N6.11 kobo per share.
Top five losers
- FGSUK2033S6’s share price depreciated by N29.99 kobo, dwindling from N129.99 kobo to N100 per share.
- TIP recorded a N2.10 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N19.45 kobo after opening with N21.55 kobo per share.
- DAAR Communications lost N0.15 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N1.90 kobo from N2.05 per share.
- United Capital recorded a N1.30 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N18.55 kobo after opening with N19.85 kobo per share.
- Wapic reported a decline of N0.20 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N3.50 kobo to end trading at N3.30 kobo per share.

- Fidelity Bank reported that 92.39 million shares valued at N1.8 billion were traded on its floor.
- Chams recorded 69.22 million shares valued at N310.94 million.
- Deap Capital saw investors trade 59.06 million of its shares valued at N382.65 million.
- Access Holdings recorded 57.24 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N1.31 billion.
- Tantalizer reported that traders exchanged 48.58 million shares valued at N228.18 million.
