Nigerian Stock Market Cap Hits N109.12trn — up by N1.26trn

The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) said the bourse’s market capitalisation increased from N107.86 trillion, recorded on Wednesday, February 4, to N109.12 trillion on Thursday, February 5, representing an increase of N1.26 trillion.

NGX said the all-share index (ASI) expanded by 1,975.18 basis points to 170,005.36 ASI, from 168,030.18 ASI.

At the end of trading, 46,104 deals were sealed as traders exchanged 712,98 million shares, valued at N22,26 billion, compared to the 694.78 million shares traded in 42,095 deals, worth N20.56 billion, on Wednesday.

Top five gainers

  • Guinea Insurance’s share price increased by N0.13 to rise from N1.30 kobo to N1.43 per share.
  • CNIF’s share value grew by N10, from N100 to N110 per share.
  • Seplat ended trading at N7,370 per share, from N6,700 per share – indicating an increase of N670.
  • LOTUSHAL15’s share appreciated by N17.71 kobo to end trading at N194.86 kobo, having opened with N177.15 kobo.
  • RT Briscoe’s share value was up by N1.04, after closing at N11.49 kobo from N10.45 kobo per share.

Top five losers

  • FGSUK2031S4’s share price depreciated by N17.99 kobo, dwindling from N99 to N81 per share.
  • Deap Council recorded a N0.66 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N6.20 kobo after opening with N6.86 kobo per share.
  • Universal Insurance lost N0.15 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N1.44 kobo from N1.59 kobo per share.
  • HMCall recorded a N0.40 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N4 after opening with N4.40 kobo per share.
  • Redstar Express reported a decline of N1.55 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N17.15 kobo to end trading at N15.60 kobo per share.

  • Access Holdings reported that 106.63 million shares valued at N2.45 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Chams recorded 44.50 million shares valued at N201.30 million.
  • Champion Breweries saw investors trade 44.46 million of its shares valued at N774.31 million.
  • Universal Insurance recorded 34.82 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N53.64 million.
  • Deap Capital reported that traders exchanged 22.74 million shares valued at N141.90 million.
