Nigeria has opened a dedicated pavilion, “Nigeria House,” at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, as Vice President Kashim Shettima leads the country’s delegation to the 56th annual meeting.
The WEF, which runs from 19 to 23 January, brings together world leaders, policymakers, and business executives to discuss global economic and technological challenges.
Nigeria House, established through a public-private partnership, will serve as a venue for high-level meetings, investment discussions, and cultural diplomacy throughout the forum.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelShettima, who arrived in Davos from Guinea, where he represented President Bola Tinubu at the presidential inauguration of Mamadi Doumbouya, was received by Nigeria’s foreign affairs and trade ministers and officials of the Nigerian mission in Switzerland.
During the forum, the vice president is expected to present Nigeria’s 2026 economic outlook and participate in sessions on artificial intelligence, quantum computing, and biotechnology.
He will also hold bilateral meetings with international business leaders, heads of state, and development finance institutions.
The Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, said Nigeria House will highlight ongoing economic reforms and key sectors, including solid minerals, climate-resilient agriculture, creative industries, and digital innovation, with the aim of attracting global investment.
