Over N1.28trn Gain Recorded As Dangote Cement, NCR Lead NGX Rebound

The Nigerian Exchange (NGX) Limited rebounded on Tuesday, December 2, with a N1.28 trillion gain, as the stock market capitalisation increased to N92.37 trillion, from N91.08 trillion recorded on Monday, December 1.

Similarly, the all-share index (ASI) appreciated by 1,718.03 basis points, from 143,210.33 ASI to 144,928.36 ASI.

Equity investors traded 606.25 million shares in 14,791 deals, worth N39.69 billion, compared to the 1.46 billion shares exchanged in 28,956 deals, valued at N18.66 billion, on Monday.

Top five gainers

  • FGSUK2027S3’s share price increased by N11 to rise from N79 to N90 per share.
  • Dangote Cement’s share value grew by N53.40 kobo, from N534.60 kobo to N588 per share.
  • NCR ended trading at N66.10 kobo per share, from N60.10 kobo per share – indicating an increase of N6.
  • International Breweries gained N1 to end trading at N11.35 kobo, having opened with N10.35 kobo.
  • Livestock’s share value was up by N0.50 kobo, after closing at N6.50 kobo from N6 per share.

Top five losers

  • Ikeja Hotels’ share price depreciated by N3.15 kobo, dwindling from N31.75 kobo to N28.60 kobo per share.
  • Legend Internet recorded a N0.55 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N5 after opening with N5.55 kobo per share.
  • LivingTrust lost N0.35 kobo in its share price after trading hours, to sell at N3.23 kobo from N3.58 per share.
  • Wapic recorded a N0.17 kobo decline in its share price to end trading at N2.36 kobo after opening with N2.53 kobo per share.
  • FTN Cocoa reported a decline of N0.25 kobo from the previous day’s share price of N4.90 kobo to end trading at N4.65 kobo per share.

  • Access Corporation reported that 310.24 million shares valued at N6.41 billion were traded on its floor.
  • Zenith Bank recorded 40.33 million shares valued at N2.41 billion.
  • Fidelity Bank saw investors trade 38.16 million of its shares valued at N725.32 million.
  • FCMB recorded 21.13 million shares exchanged on its floor, worth N216.96 million.
  • GTCO reported 20.81 million shares valued at N1.79 billion exchanged in investors’ hands.
