Dangote Refinery Sets New Supply Benchmark, Commits to Meeting Nigeria’s Domestic PMS Demand

December 1, 2025
L R: President and Chief Executive, Dangote Industries Ltd, Aliko Dangote; Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, South South Development Commission, Usoro Akpabio, during the visit of SSDC members to the Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Fertiliser Plant in Lagos on Sunday, November 30, 2025.

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has strengthened its bid to stabilise Nigeria’s downstream market with a formal declaration that it is “ready and able” to meet the country’s domestic Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) requirements from December 2025 onward.

The company has committed to supplying 1.5 billion litres of PMS per month equivalent to 50 million litres per day in December and January, and increasing output to 1.7 billion litres monthly, or 57 million litres per day, from February 2026.

The renewed commitment, conveyed in a letter to the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), solidifies the refinery’s position as a central supply anchor for the domestic fuel market. The refinery stated that its supply plan is designed to ensure uninterrupted nationwide fuel availability and strengthen market confidence during the high-demand festive season and beyond.

This aligns with earlier remarks from Aliko Dangote, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, who announced during a facility visit by the South-South Development Commission (SSDC) that the refinery currently produces between 40 million and 45 million litres of PMS daily, with production ramp-up already underway.
