The 24 year old widely regarded as one of Africa’s top goalkeepers, has earned 55 caps for Nigeria since making her senior debut in 2018.

She rose to prominence at the 2018 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup and became Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper shortly after.

Her performances at the 2019 and 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cups further cemented her reputation, especially after a standout showing against Canada in 2023 where she saved a penalty against highly rated Canada Captain Christine Sinclair.

She spent four seasons at Paris FC, where she made 16 UEFA Women’s Champions League appearances between 2022 and 2025, playing a key role in the team’s rise in French and European women’s football.

Brighton manager Dario Vidosic praised the new signing, saying: “She’s a talented and commanding goalkeeper who will bring consistency and confidence to our defensive line. We’re confident she’ll add both depth and drive to a squad already full of ambition as we continue to build for next season.”

In 2024, Nnadozie made history by becoming the first African player to be named the UNFP Division 1 Féminine Goalkeeper of the Season.

She also won the D1 Arkema Best Goalkeeper of the Season and the UNFP Goalkeeper of the Season awards in the same year.

Before her move to Europe, Nnadozie played four seasons with Rivers Angels in Nigeria, where she won the Nigeria Women’s Premier League in 2019 and three Nigeria Women’s Cup titles.

Her outstanding performances earned her the International Federation of Football History & Statistics (IFFHS) Africa’s Best Woman Goalkeeper award in 2019.

Brighton finished fifth on the Women Super League table this season with 28 points in 22 matches. Chelsea clinched the title with Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City ladies finishing in the second, third and fourth positions respectively.

Brighton believes the coming of Nnadozie will further fortify the back line as the team eyes better performance next season.

Nnadozie meanwhile will be leading the Super Falcons in their quest to clinch the 10th WAFCON title in Morocco next month. The nine-time champions begin their campaign against Tunisia on July 6.
