This year has seen fantastic singers on the podium and as the countdown to the grand finale continues, IZUCHUKWU OKOSI presents predictions for who will be the last three.

The top 5 as at the time of writing this report are: Brammy, Lawrence, Mikki, Purp and Raymu.

The number will further reduce to 4 on Sunday, July 6. Then the top 3 will be on the spotlight in less than two weeks’ time.

So who do we consider as our top three from the existing five left in the contest?

In no particular order, we run the rules on what could the outcome on July 13.

1. Purp

So ladies first in this case.

Purp is the last lady standing from the rest and has proven that she could realistically win it.

Purp was the penultimate singer in the previous round (top 20), taking up the 10th spot after the judges’ verdict.

Purp aims to become the first woman to win the competition since the Season 4 of the competition when Evelyn Ibhade Zibili professionally known as ‘Evelle’ emerged winner in 2014.

The singer would later release a song titled ‘Waiting’ that featured DJ Xclusive and Masterkraft.

Indeed the waiting for the next lady to win the contest could end on July 13.

2. Lawrence Simon

The Warri-born singer is blessed with a unique voice that has won him quite a large fanbase.

There is an ongoing ‘social media war’ among his fans and fans supporting other contestants on our ‘final three’ list.

Since the live performances began on May 25, It was almost certain that Lawrence will be one of the contestants that come this far.

3. Mikki Odionka

Mike Odionka known professionally as Mikki was one of two auditioners who deservedly won a platinum ticket and not a golden ticket thereby evading the Theatre Week.

Mikki’s rendition of songs gets the crowd teary with his powerful voice.

The Calabar-born artiste draws comparison in style with Kingdom Krosiede.

Mikki’s vocal power, distinctive tone and stage presence make him a delight to watch.

Mikki embodies singing and performance put together.

Having gone this far, the very least this shining comet will get is a top two place but he seems destined for the very top.

The duo of Brammy and Raymu deserve honourable mentions as they make up the top 5 places but our prediction is that the two will be the fourth and fifth contestants to be eliminated.
