Former England Captain, Beckham, Others Receive Knighthood, Awards

Former England international, David Beckham, among several British athletes, was on Friday night honoured for his contributions to sports and humanity.

Beckham was also joined at the knighthood ceremony by Billy Boston, and actor Gary Oldman on a King’s Birthday Honours that also recognises Strictly Come Dancing hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman

Dart players Luke Littler and Luke Humphries were awarded MBEs in the King’s Birthday Honours.

Former tennis player Virginia Wade is the only British woman to have won titles at all four majors.

The occasion also witnessed the recognition of other athletes who gave represented the Britain with distinction at major sporting events.

Also recognised at the occasion include Aston Villa women’s captain, Rachel Daly.

Beckham was one of England’s best footballing talents of his era.
