The former Manchester City starlet now had an opportunity to play with close friend and then Chelsea teammate, Cole Palmer.

Chelsea beat Spanish La Liga’s Real Betis to win the UEFA Conference League and become the first side to win all UEFA competitions.

That European triumph with the club’s qualification for the UEFA Champions League under manager Enzo Maresca may twist the head of the beanpole striker.

The significance of the deal may not be known yet as it is unclear if the club are keen to sign only the 22-year-old or will be in the market for further reinforcements.

Chelsea are also linked with a move for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko albeit the striker is strongly believed to be on the cusp of agreeing a deal with Arsenal.

Remarkably, Chelsea have held an agreement with RB Leipzig’s partner club, Strasbourg, over a pre contract for Dutch international of Nigerian descent, Emmanuel Emegha in 2026.

In a related development, Chelsea according to a report monitored on Irish Examiner, Chelsea may not take up the option of making Jadon Sancho’s loan at Stamford Bridge a permanent one.

The club’s owners’ strategy of buying the best young players across the world is beginning to bear fruit and Delap could be the new face of such drive.

The west Londoners may raise funds for some more acquisitions by selling players like Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Trevor Chalobah and Axel Disasi but the likes of Tosin Adarabioyo and Tyrique George are expected to stay.

It is unclear if goalkeepers Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen will remain at the club or get the faith of Enzo Maresca.

Manchester United have lost out to Chelsea on a few targets and are already embarking on pre season tours for commercial factors and t raise funds for transfer business.
