Wizkid, Ayra Starr Make Streaming History On Social Media

Afrobeats sensations, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, best known in the Afrobeats music genre as Wizkid, and Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe aka Ayra Starr, have both recorded another significant milestones in their illustrious careers, reports Prime Business Africa.

Wizkid has released top Nigerian songs since his bold entrance into the music scene.

However his signature hit, ‘Made In Lagos’ is set to increase his earnings and reach as it has surpassed 1 billion Spotify streams.

Wizkid has recorded huge successes with songs like ‘More Love’, ‘Less Ego’ ‘Soundman’ Volume 2′ EP, and the recent album, Morayo.’

By this feat, Wizkid joins the list of Nigerian artistes to attain the feat which also include Burna Boy, Rema, Ayra Starr and Omah Lay.

In a similar piece of good news, Ayra Starr on Monday was announced as the first Nigerian female artiste to surpass 1 billion views on YouTube, joining an elite list of song stars that include Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido.

Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’ saw over 450 million views and is one of the most-watched Nigerian songs on YouTube.

The music video it could be recalled earned her a UK platinum certification.

Ayra Starr thus became the first Nigerian female artiste to debut a solo track on the UK Official Top 100 chart.

Nigerian artistes have churned out blockbuster songs and gone into collaborations with some of the finest music icons in the world.

Conversely, Ayra Starr’s Spotify Monthly Earnings is $400,972 according to information from Wikipedia.

Meanwhile, Wizkid’s net worth is estimated to be over $4 million in 2024 according to Wikipedia.

Forbes in it’s release of their list of the Top 5 Richest Artistes In Nigeria in 2024 had Wizkid lead the top five with a net worth of $50 million.

Burna Boy was in second place with $40 million while Don Jazzy ($30 million), Davido ($15 million) and Olamide ($10 million) make up the top 5 list.
