In the head-to-head matchup between both finalists, Djokovic holds a seven-match winning streak over Hurkacz.

The victory on Friday against Norrie was also the perfect birthday gift Djokovic could offer himself as he turns 38 years-old.

Djokovic, 24-time Grand slam winner, hopes to get his hands on a fourth Roland Garros title and an injury-free tournament unlike the Australian Open where he retired injured.

Sunday’s final will be Djokovic’s second final this year after the Miami Open where he was beaten by Czech young sensation Jakub Mensik.

“It was the toughest match of the tournament for me so far, three sets.”

“(In) the second set, he was a break up and I managed to come back to the tiebreak. But I’m really glad hoe I regrouped in the third and played the best set of the tournament.

Sunday’s final will be the 143rd ATP final for the Serbian who recently let go of former rival and later assistant coach Andy Murray.

The French Open is the second Grand slam event of the calendar year played on clay which was dominated for long spells by Rafael Nadal before he retired from the game at the end of 2024.

The French Open will end on Sunday, June 8 with the Wimbledon Open – played on grass the next big tennis event on the calendar to follow in July.

Tennis is one of the world’s most loved sports and has drawn widespread interest when the Grand Slam events come around.

Jannick Sinner remains the ATP top ranked player.
