This was made known in a statement released on Tuesday, signed by the Managing Director, Hans Essaadi.

Prior to this new appointment, Oriakhi had been serving as marketing director since August 2018, managing portfolios, including Desperados, Zagg, Legend Twist, Goldberg Black, and Heineken 45cl.

Since November 2024, he has also been leading the sales function in an interim capacity.

He is expected to continue overseeing marketing operations until June 1, when a new marketing director will be appointed.

Oriakhi’s responsibilities in the new role include enhancing client interaction, promoting trade execution excellence, and optimizing sales productivity and distribution efficiency.

He is expected to build an innovation-driven culture inside the sales team, allowing it to overcome market turbulence while maintaining its leadership in Nigeria’s brewing sector.

Nigerian Breweries noted that Oriakhi’s increased portfolio indicates the company’s confidence in his leadership abilities and is consistent with its strategy goal of providing great value in an increasingly challenging commercial climate.

Prime Business Africa reports that Oriakhi joined Nigerian Breweries PLC in 2003 as a Commercial Management Trainee. He has since then risen through the ranks, holding senior roles within the Commercial Function of Nigerian Breweries and Heineken N.V. at an international level.
