Police Chief In Niger Tasks 266 New-ranking Officers On Terrorism

The Niger State Police Command has decorated 266 newly-promoted officers with their ranks.

Admonishing the officers at the Command Headquarters in Minna, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Monday Bala Kuryas, enjoined them to rededicate themselves to duty so as to justify their elevation.

The Commissioner who stood in for the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Alkali Baba Usman, during the decoration ceremony reminded the officers that their promotion comes with additional responsibilities; hence, the need to put in their best into whatever capacity they find themselves, especially in the fight against armed banditry and other crimes.

One officer was promoted from Chief Superintendent of Police(CSP) to Assistant Commissioner of Police ( ACP); another from Superintendent of Police to the next rank of Chief Superintendent of Police; whereas seven officers in the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police were elevated to Superintendent of Police, just as 257 unconfirmed Assistant Superintendent of Police officers were decorated to substantive Assistant Superintendent of Police.

Responding on behalf of his colleagues, Assistant Commissioner of Police, Musa Muhammad Danko, praised the Inspector General of Police for considering them for the promotion.

ACP Danko also appreciated the Commissioner of Police,Mr Monday Bala Kuryas and other senior officers of the Command for their leadership role, assuring that the newly promoted Police officers would redouble efforts in the course performing their duties.
