The Nigeria Police Force has appointed Assistant Inspector-General Dankombo F. Morris as head of Zone 4 headquarters in Makurdi, overseeing operations in Benue, Nasarawa and Plateau states.
Morris, who joined the police in 1992, replaces the outgoing AIG and will be responsible for coordinating security efforts in a region that has faced recurring violence, including attacks by armed groups and communal clashes.
Before his promotion, Morris served as commissioner of police in Adamawa state between 2024 and 2026. He has also held command and administrative roles across several states, including Taraba, Jigawa, Borno and Imo.
Join our WhatsApp ChannelPolice authorities said Morris has undergone multiple operational and leadership trainings and is expected to strengthen security coordination across the zone.
In a statement, he urged residents to support law enforcement efforts by providing timely information to help combat crime.
