Censorship Board Ban: Actress Samha Inuwa Off Kannywood Till 2026

Samha Inuwa gets 12 months ban

Renowned Kannywood actress, Samha M. Inuwa, has been suspended with her operating licence revoked by Kano State Government for alleged indecent dressing.

The hammer came through the Kano State Censorship Board (KSFCB), that accused the actress of infringement of the board’s regulations concerning indecent attire and the posting of vulgar content, among other violations.

A statement released and signed by the board’s Information Officer, Abdullahi Sani Sulaiman, indicated that Samha had received multiple warnings regarding her “inappropriate dressing and vulgar behaviour.”

Despite these warnings, she continued to disregard the board’s guidelines, prompting the board to take action and impose a suspension.

The statement further clarified that the suspension is effective immediately, prohibiting Samha from participating in any film productions for a duration of 12 months.

The board noted that this decision was made in response to numerous complaints from the public and concerned citizens in Kano regarding the actress’s conduct, which contravenes the established regulations.

In addition to the suspension, the board has also annulled Samha’s operating licenses and ceased the censorship of any films that include her.

This suspension is viewed as a commitment by the new leadership of the board, under Abba Al-Mustapha, to restore decorum within the Hausa film industry

Inuwa who is very popular among die-hard of Kannywood fans was nominated as best upcoming actress of the by City People Entertainment Awards in 2018. Inuwa boasts of over 513K Followers on Instagram.
