Super Eagles interim manager, Coach Augustine Eguavoen has reiterated the need for continuity in the national team ahead of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations next month by revealing that majority of the players for the tournament would be nucleus of the team under former gaffer Gernot Rohr.

Eguavoen did confirm that only a handful of new players will be invited to the team according to a Brila FM’s Instagram post.

‘’90% of the players in the team have been together, we’ll stick with the team that has been together, but we will bring in a few maybe 5. Only a few faces will get called up. Our players aren’t as bad as some of the results may have appeared.”

Eguavoen is expected to lead the three time African champions to the Afcon albeit a substantive coach is expected to be named afterwards as the team gun for a 2022 FIFA World Cup ticket.

The Super Eagles are expected to start their camping for the Nations Cup by the end of the month or immediately after the new hear celebrations.
