A Raheem Sterling early goal and two strikes from Bernardo Silva helped Manchester City ease past Watford 3-1 and moved them to the top of the Premier League table following Chelsea’s 3-2 defeat to West Ham United earlier on Saturday.

Sterling grabbed the opener in only the fourth minute with a close-range header. And Silva kept his incredible goalscoring record going with the second just after the half-hour mark.

The Portuguese scored again after the break to give his side a comfortable victory before Cucho Hernandez netted a consolation for Watford at the Vicarge Road.

The loss was the 6th of the season in the Premier League for manager Claudio Ranieri.

Pep Guardiola made five changes, with five new starters from the 2-1 midweek win over Aston Villa.

Jack Grealish made his first City start since November 3, while Kyle Walker, Aymeric Laporte, Ilkay Gundogan and Phil Foden all got starting berths.

Nathan Ake, Oleksandr Zinchenko, Fernandinho, Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus were left out of the side entirely.

Divork Origi came off the substitute bench to score a late winner for Liverpool against Wolverhampton Wanderers away on Saturday evening.

The Belgian striker of African descent fired a left footed strike that eventually claimed victory for Jurgen Klopp’s men.

  1. Klopp was overly excited and he characteristically ran unto the field to embrace Origi whom he later described as a Liverpool ‘legend’ in his post match press conference.
