Izu Ojukwu’s Directed Film, Amina, Makes Netflix’s Top 10 Ranking

Prolific Nollywood director Izu Ojukwu has taken to his Instagram page to announce the top 10 global ranking of his latest directorial work ‘Amina’ reports Prime Business Africa.

‘Amina’ which is set in the 16th century is produced by ace producer and actor Okey Ogunjiofor.

 

The film which premiered on streaming platform Netflix became the first Nigeria movie to reach the landmark.

 

Confirming the feat, Ojukwu who has directed hordes of Nigerian movies shared a video of Netflix Director of Content for Africa, Ben Amadasun making the announcement at a press briefing.

 

The character ‘Amina’ was played by Lucy  Ameh who did a great job of interpreting her character. 

 

Amina is the lead role and the film explores the rise to power of the 16th century warrior and queen.

 

The film also starrs Clarion Chulwurah and Ali Nuhu. 

 

Some of Izu Ojukwu’s blockbuster movies include 1976, Sitanda, White Waters and Across The Niger.
