The facility is equipped with 86 gantries making it possible to load 86 trucks simultaneously, thereby making the loading process faster.

Out of the 86 gantries, 40 are dedicated to discharge of petrol alone.

Vice President of Dangote Industries Limited, Devakumar Edwin, said the refinery has the capacity to discharge 54 million litres of petrol per day, thereby saving the country foreign exchange.

The Federal Government had on Friday announced that the Dangote Refinery will commence supply of petrol to NNPC on Sunday.

On Saturday, the NNPCL spokesperson, Olufemi Soneye shared an update on X indicating that about 300 trucks belonging to the national oil company have arrived at the refinery ahead of today’s lifting of the product.

This development comes after months of anticipation of the distribution of the petrol across the country by Dangote Refinery.

The 650,000 barrels per day refinery which started operations in January, had been producing and supplying diesel both to local and international markets. It however postponed the commencement of sale of petrol for about four times.
