Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen will wear a special jersey later today (Sunday evening) in honour of late Napoli and Argentina legend and then global superstar Diego Maradona in commemoration of his death in Napoli’s Serie A clash against Verona.

Osimhen has not been involved in the last two games for his club in the Serie A and Europa League but will undergo a late fitness test to ascertain if he would be fit to play in the game which kicks off 6pm Nigerian time.

Maradona, considered in most football circles as the ‘Greatest of All Times’ died of cardiac arrest in November 25, 2020.

Napoli in a message on their social media accounts revealed that the players are billed to wear the customised outfit in today’s league clash against Verona, and November 21 duel against Inter Milan, as well as the November 28 cracker at home to Lazio.

Maradona’s last competitive game was against Nigeria at the 1994 FIFA World Cup in the USA which Argentina won 2-1 after he failed a dope test.
