Nigeria’s Favour Ofili may have seen her dream of riding high in the 100m and 200m races of the ongoing Olympics crash, she is however, still keeping hope alive as she competes in the women’s 4×100m relay on Thursday morning.

Ofili could not partake in the 100m race due to administrative blunder but participated in the 200m final where she finished 6th in a race that was won by America’s Gabrielle Thomas to claim Gold with Julien Alfred and Brittany Brown clinching Silver and Bronze respectively.

Ofili however still has some assignment to execute as she partakes in the 4×100 relay heat alongside compatriots Rosemary Chukwuma,Tima Godbless and Justina Tiana Eyakpobeyan.

Ofili, who has since been hailed by Nigerians for her efforts in the 200m despite finishing without a medal, hinted on her participation in the forthcoming relays, and thanked her coach for being a pillar of support.

“If it was easy, everyone will be doing it. Thank you coach Shaver😊 having you around made everything a lot easy for me. * 200m finalist * Finished 6th overall **Next 4×100(On God)” she said.

The Nigerian ladies will be competing in Heat 2 against quartets from Spain and Trinidad and Tobago, while Heat 1 will feature quartets from Switzerland, Belgium and Italy. The Finals of women 4x100m relay will take place on Friday August 9.

With four days to the end of the Olympics the medal table continues to shape and reshape as countries pull weight in various sports.

United States however still leads the pack with 94 medals comprising 27 Gold, 35 Silver and 32 Bronze. China are in the second place with 25 Gold, 23 Silver and 17 Bronze.

Australia and France completes the top four. African countries that have made it to the medal table include Kenya with five medals including Gold, South Africa with four medals including one Gold, Uganda with two medals including Gold.

Others are Algeria, Morocco, Ethiopia, Tunisia, Egypt and Zambia with a Silver and Bronze.
