Lanre Akojede, founder of the Lanre Akojede Foundation, emphasised that the initiative was designed to help those in need without any political motives. “This event is aimed at giving succour to the needy. As someone who was once a player but couldn’t continue due to lack of support, I understand the importance of such initiatives,” Akojede explained to journalists.

The tournament concluded with the victory of a local team, whose captain, Jeremiah Josiah, expressed his gratitude. “I appreciate the founder for this initiative. This tournament is a great opportunity that will help the careers of footballers in this local community. I am happy to be the champion of the Lanre Akojede Charity Cup,” Josiah said.

Barrister Ipoola Aderemi, a guest at the event, expressed his admiration for the competition. “I am overwhelmed by this event. It’s the third edition organised by my nephew. Such programs should be organised by those who are well-to-do in society. I encourage others to give back to the community,” Aderemi concluded.
