The win let City move provisionally level with leaders Liverpool ahead of the Reds’ Premier League game away to fierce rivals Manchester United.

Jean-Philippe Mateta put Palace ahead three minutes into the game but Kevin De Bruyne grabbed his 100th league goal for the Cityzens as he equalised.

Rico Lewis then put Pep Guardiola’s side ahead two minutes into the second half before Erling Haaland made it 3-1. De Bruyne added his second and City’s fourth with a solo effort in the 79th minute.

For Arsenal, it was their 10th Premier League win in 2024 at the Amex stadium as they claimed a 3-0 triumph with goals from Bukayo Saka, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard.

Saka converted a penalty in the 33rd minute after Tariq Lamptey was adjudged to have clipped Gabriel Jesus in the area.

Havertz poked the ball home from close range for the second goal before Trossard dinked superbly to get one over his former side.

Bruno Guimaraes marked his 100th appearance for Newcastle United on Saturday evening with a late strike to beat Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage.

At Villa Park, Aston Villa and Brentford played out a 3-3 draw at Villa Park, with the returning Ollie Watkins who missed the 4-1 defeat to Manchester City, scoring twice against his former club to move within one goal of Erling Haaland in the Premier League scoring charts.

Luton Town’s hopes for survival got some boost as they overcame Bournemouth 2-1 with Carlton Morris scoring a late goal in the 90th minute.

Luton went behind to Marcus Tavernier’s goal in the seventh minute of the game before Jordan Clark levelled up.
