Renowned Nollywood icon, John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, has tragically passed away at the age of 62. Reports indicate that he breathed his last at Evercare Hospital in Lagos on March 2, 2024, though an official statement from his family is awaited.

The actor battled severe health challenges last year, including a critical struggle with diseased blood cells and persistent blood clotting in his leg. Despite undergoing seven surgeries, his condition deteriorated to the extent that one of his legs had to be amputated in a desperate bid to prolong his life.
