Nigeria Customs Service To Deploy 520 Officers, 50 Border Patrols

Nigerian Customs Condemns Officers’ Assault Of VIO

Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), is set to deployed 520 marine customs officers and 50 border patrol boats to fight smuggling on the waterways.

Zonal Coordinator, NCS, Zone A, Modupe Aremu, stated that the boats and officers are being deployed to ensure that the waterways are effectively secured.

In her words, “the Comptroller General of Customs is aware that commands are short of officers and due to the ongoing recruitment, officers will soon be trained for deployment to commands,”

Aremu who visited the Kirikiri Light Terminal and Lagos Industrial Command, also highlighted the fight against illicit drugs, noting that more results would be achieved with more officers deployed to the waterways.
