Gaza Death Toll Nears 8,000, Palestinian Health Ministry Reports

The Palestinian Ministry of Health in Ramallah has released alarming figures, stating that the death toll resulting from Israeli strikes on Gaza, which began on October 7, has now reached 7,950. The data was collected from sources within the Hamas-controlled enclave.

73% of the casualties are individuals from vulnerable populations, including children, women, and the elderly. The ministry’s report also highlights that over 20,000 people have sustained injuries during the ongoing conflict.

A distressing aspect of these statistics is that the death toll includes 116 medical personnel, as numerous hospitals have been targeted in military strikes.

The ministry previously reported that 24 hospitals in northern Gaza, with a combined capacity of 2,000 beds, were instructed to evacuate, compounding the challenges faced by medical teams attempting to provide care in these dire circumstances.
