Adewale Adeniyi Confirmed As Nigeria Customs Comptroller-General

President Bola Tinubu has confirmed Adewale Adeniyi as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria’s Custom Service.

The confirmation comes nearly four months after President Tinubu initially entrusted Adeniyi with the role in an acting capacity.

The announcement was made by the Director of Information at the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Willie Bassey.

The statement disclosed that the appointment officially commenced on October 19, 2023, in accordance with the Public Service Rules (PSR).

Quoting President Tinubu, Bassey stated, “His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has approved the confirmation of the appointment of Adewale Adeniyi (MFR) as the Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service. The President tasks him to bring his wealth of experience to bear on his new assignment.”

This transition not only signifies a shift in customs management but also underscores President Tinubu’s confidence in Adeniyi’s capabilities. It is a bold move that is poised to bring a fresh perspective to the critical role of customs administration in Nigeria.
