Femi Falana Reveals How CBN’s Cash Withdrawal Limit Violates Nigerians' Right

HUMAN rights activist and Legal practitioner, Barr Femi Falana (SAN), has asked the Nigerian Government to work with Civil Society Organizations, to eradicate  poverty in the country.

Nigeria categorized as a developing country, has been battling with poverty, and though the government claims to be doing its best to reduce poverty to the barest minimum, it is sad that majority of the masses are not feeling the impact of government’s intervention.

Barr. Falana, in a chat with Prime  Business, said the government of President Buhari, must work with mass organisations, credible civil society groups to ensure that the lives of poverty stricken people are touched by the programmes of the government.

In his words: “Right now the people are not feeling the impact of the government, power is epileptic, hospitals are not accessible, and the ones that are accessible lack proper facilities. Education is in shambles and the people have no access to good drinking water.”

The Human rights lawyer further stressed that the government should endeavor to carry the people along in any program they want to initiate.

Falana charged the Nigerian  government to involve the citizens in the planning and execution of projects and policies meant to address poverty, and not just announcing hundreds of billions on the news.
