How Davido Failed To Perform At Warri Event Despite N72m Appearance Fee – Amaju Pinnick

Former NFF boss insists Burnaboy is a bigger Afrobeats star
October 7, 2023

Former Nigeria Football Federation, NFF President, Amaju Pinnick has sensationally revealed that Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke (Davido) failed to show up and perform at an event in Warri, Delta State despite getting paid in excess of $94,600 (N72 million Naira) and booking a private jet to pick him.

Pinnick, a member of CAF and FIFA Executive Committees in a video making the rounds on social media stopped short of expressing his dismay at the alleged unprofessional attitude of the music icon who was absent at the Warri Again event in Delta State held on Friday, 6th of October, 2023.

Davido, who had performed at several global sporting events in the past, according to Amaju, was paid $94,600 for his performance at the event and a chartered plane was arranged to convey him and his crew to the state. He added that the payment has been made since April 6th, 2023.

Davido who was intended to be the headline act at the event was replaced with “Evien” crooner Shallipopi

Amaju Pinnick while speaking to the audience expressed his utmost displeasure toward Davido while adding that the “Feel” crooner won’t be allowed to perform in Warri henceforth.

His words: “We paid Davido $94,600 on the 6th of April. We paid $18,000 for his plane.

“If he says he’s a big boy, we will tell him we are bigger than him. I’m not joking. So, while he was playing his games back and forth, we decided to hunt to find another artiste, Shallipopi.

“You see, when people say they are big, I’m amazed. Is Burna Boy not the biggest artiste in Nigeria today? Burna Boy is half Itsekiri. Burna Boy’s paternal grandmother is Itsekiri. So, he’s bigger than him (Davido).

“Is there anyone bigger than RMD in the acting industry? Or someone bigger than Ali Baba in the comedy industry?

“We have stars aplenty in Warri. Nobody is bigger than Warri.”

Pinnick who had a tumultuous time in charge of the Nigeria Football Federation accused Davido of being arrogant and insisted that Burnaboy is a bigger artiste than the DMW boss.
