A nine-year-old boy, Chukwuebuka Amaechi, is in desperate need of over ₦38 million to undergo a kidney transplant, following a diagnosis of End-Stage Renal Disease (ESRD).
The young boy, a native of Nando in Anambra East Local Government Area of Anambra State, has been battling severe kidney complications that has drained his family’s financial resources and placed his life on a critical edge.

After a series of medical evaluations, doctors confirmed he was suffering from advanced kidney failure.
The report, signed by Dr. A.E. Alakoloko, a Consultant Paediatrician at LUTH, states that Chukwuebuka had previously been managed at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in 2024, where he was diagnosed with Steroid Resistant Nephrotic Syndrome (SRNS). Despite ongoing treatments, his condition worsened, prompting a referral to LUTH, where the final diagnosis of Chronic Kidney Disease (Stage V) was made.
Currently, Chukwuebuka undergoes chronic haemodialysis three to four times a week, pending a kidney transplant the only definitive treatment that can give him a chance at survival. But the transplant procedure and its associated medical expenses come with a hefty price tag, one that his parents can no longer afford.

Chukwuebuka’s family, already exhausted from months of medical bills and repeated hospital visits, has reached out to Prime Business Africa to call on public-spirited individuals, corporate organisations, and especially the Governor of Anambra State, Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, to intervene and help save their son’s life.
“We are completely overwhelmed emotionally and financially. We have done all we can as a family, but now we need help from others to give Chukwuebuka a chance to live,” Mr Anthony Chukwuemeka, a family member, said tearfully.
“As a father, nothing breaks me more than watching my son fight for his life every day and not being able to afford the one thing that could save him. We’ve sold everything we have, and now we are begging not for luxury, but for his life. Please, help us keep Chukwuebuka alive,” said the boy’s father, Mr. Ekwefi Amaechi, amidst tears.
