30th Remembrance: Obaseki, Ibori, Ikimi, Others Celebrate Legacy, Values Of Late Mrs. Oyemwense

In a poignant commemoration, political figures and dignitaries, including Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki, former Delta State Governor James Ibori, and PDP stalwart Tom Ikimi, converged to honor the enduring legacy of the late Mrs. Grace Iyonawan Oyemwense.

The event, marking 30 years since her passing, was held in Benin City, drawing heartfelt reflections and tributes.

Obaseki, reflecting on the occasion, hailed the departed as a trailblazer, emphasizing her profound influence in nurturing values of hard work, humility, and self-confidence among her kin and associates.

“We have every reason to thank God for Mama’s life and the legacy she left behind,” remarked Obaseki, underscoring the timeless nature of her impact.

Former Edo first lady, Mrs. Eki Igbinedion, expressed gratitude for her mother’s life, attributing her accomplishments to the strong foundation and discipline instilled by the late matriarch.

“My mother left a great legacy behind,” acknowledged Igbinedion, highlighting the enduring influence of her mother’s values on her upbringing and education.

The solemn yet celebratory atmosphere resonated with echoes of gratitude for the indelible mark Mrs. Oyemwense left on her family, community, and all who had the privilege of encountering her wisdom and guidance.
