‘Your Career Is Dead,’ Davido Replies Wizkid

Afrobeat artist, Ayodeji Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, on Monday, set microblogging site, X.com, on fire when he took swipes at Davido and Mavin Records boss, Michael Ajereh, popularly known as Don Jazzy.

The conversation started when Wizkid, shared a diss video targeting Davido, poking fun at the 30BG boss. This move didn’t go unnoticed, as fans of both artists, as well as fellow musicians like Kizz Daniel and Tekno, jumped in with their own opinions.

Responding to the diss, Davido took to the X platform later that day with a tweet aimed at Wizkid, suggesting that his musical relevance had dwindled. This indirect jab further fueled the flames, prompting Wizkid to dismiss the altercation with a succinct “U know what..no point. delusional niggas pray for y’all”.

However, the exchange took a more direct turn when Davido labeled Wizkid a “sick man” in response to his earlier remarks. Wizkid, unfazed, continued by sharing the same diss video.

Wizkid decided not to take things further, though. He shut down the X exchange then and there by claiming he was over it. “I don tire,” he tweeted. “I dey go sleep. Jesus is King.”

The two artists reportedly had a falling out in 2023, which Davido attributed to the fans during an appearance on Drink Champs. “It actually started with the fans,” he explained. “It was the fans going at it. We was f*cking around and he announced like, ‘Yo, I’m going on tour with David next year.’ The fans were so angry.”
