As US investigators delve deeper into the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the life of Access Holdings’ CEO, Herbert Wigwe, and others, Nigerians pay their respects, highlighting Wigwe’s humble roots and profound impact.

Prominent figures, including Magnus Abe, recall Wigwe’s connection to his origins despite towering success.

Magnus Abe, reflecting on Wigwe’s legacy, remarked, “He was part of everything we did… He was just an amazing character for such a young man.” Abe also praised Wigwe’s father for his inclusive nature, extending hospitality to all.

Among those who visited Wigwe’s family were Christopher Kolade, Aliko Dangote, and Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, underscoring the widespread grief over his loss.

Additionally, the Nigerian Insurers Association (NIA) expressed profound sadness, recognizing Wigwe’s significant contributions to the financial sector and Nigeria’s economy.

NIA Chairman, Olusegun Omosehin, conveyed condolences to the bereaved families, emphasizing Wigwe’s stature as a successful banker and patriot.

“The passing of Herbert Wigwe is not just a loss to the financial sector but to the entire country,” stated the NIA, echoing sentiments shared by many mourning his untimely demise.

As investigations continue into the helicopter crash, Nigerians unite in honoring Herbert Wigwe, a man whose impact transcended borders and whose legacy will endure.
