General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry (DCLM), Pastor William Kumuyi, has expressed his hope that God would use the United States President, Donald Trump, to solve the problem of insecurity, and restore peace and stability in not just America but other parts of the world.

Pastor Kumuyi also expressed optimism that Trump would work towards advancing religious freedom and support Christian values.

He stated this during an interview after attending Trump’s inauguration on Monday, 20 January.

Prime Business Africa had reported that Trump, who won the November 2024 election, was sworn in for his second term as the 47th President of the United States.

Kumuyi travelled to the U.S. last week on invitation to attend Trump’s inauguration.

The cleric commended the American people for the successful conduct of the election that led to Trump’s emergence as president, adding that it is a victory of democracy.

Commenting on Trump’s inaugural speech, Kumuyi said he aligns with the president on all that he wants to do.

“I celebrate the victory of democracy, and I also appreciate the fact that America has spoken this time, and America has elected Donald Trump to be the 47th president of the United States of America, and I align with everything that went on, and also the inaugural speech of Donald Trump, what he hopes to achieve and what he wants to do.

“I would say it was a good experience participating in the inaugural ceremony,” Kumuyi stated.

Speaking further on his expectations from Trump based on his stance, he said: “We’re believing and looking forward to the point that the Lord God of heaven will use him (Trump) to bring peace and stability and solve the problem of insecurity, not only in America, but in the rest of the world.”

Earlier, Kumuyi had participated in an Inauguration Praise and Prayer Convocation which held ahead of Trump’s swearing in ceremony.

During the programme organised by the Well Versed World Ministry of Jim Garlow, in partnership with Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council at the Greater New Hope Baptist Church, Kumuyi prayed for God to grant Trump the wisdom to lead well, make good decisions and remain focused on his campaign promises.

The DLCM General Superintendent also prayed that God would give the church in America the grace of unity, knowledge, holiness and righteousness expected of it to make an impact in the government and the country generally.

Speaking on his proposed engagement with U.S. Congress, he said the discussion will centre on addressing the situation in America and how to achieve peace, unity and stability across the world and promote economic development without hindrances caused by insecurity.
