In a commanding win, former US President Donald Trump secured victory in the New Hampshire primary, solidifying his lead in the race for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination.

Projections from the Associated Press and Fox News revealed Trump’s dominance, with a notable 54.8% of votes against his primary rival, former UN Ambassador, Nikki Haley, who scored 43.6%.

Mocking Haley at his victory party, Trump labeled her an “imposter” and emphasized her inability to secure a crucial win. Despite projections suggesting Trump’s near-certain path to the GOP nomination, Haley remained defiant, vowing to press on, stating, “This race is far from over.”

President Joe Biden, winning the Democratic primary in a symbolic write-in effort, acknowledged Trump’s triumph. Biden’s campaign manager, Julie Chavez Rodriguez, stated, “Tonight’s results confirm Donald Trump has all but locked up the GOP nomination.”

As the spotlight shifts to the upcoming primary in Haley’s home state of South Carolina on February 24, the race intensifies. With high voter turnout reported, the evolving dynamics suggest a compelling narrative leading up to the pivotal “Super Tuesday” on March 5, where millions of Americans across 16 states will cast their ballots, providing a clearer picture of the unfolding political landscapes.
