Specialist Visits to Joe Biden Raise Concerns

Reports surfaced showing that Dr. Kevin Cannard, a neurologist specializing in movement disorders, had visited the White House on several occasions.

Dr. Cannard visited eight times from last summer to this spring. This revelation fueled speculations about President Joe Biden’s health, particularly after his recent debate performance with Donald Trump, which many described as an “unmitigated disaster.”

Joe Biden Addresses Health Concerns

In response to these concerns, President Joe Biden sent a letter to Democrats in Congress, acknowledging the worries about his age but affirming his decision to remain in the presidential race.

“I am not blind to concerns about my age,” Biden wrote, urging his party to unite against Trump.

White House Press Secretary’s Statement

White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre clarified the situation, stating, “Has the president been treated for Parkinson’s? No. Is he being treated for Parkinson’s? No, he’s not.

Is he taking medication for Parkinson’s? No.” Jean-Pierre emphasised that the president had seen a neurologist only in connection with his annual physical exams.

Neurologist’s Visits Explained

Jean-Pierre declined to confirm Dr. Cannard’s specific visits due to privacy reasons but noted that President Biden had seen a neurologist three times for his annual physical exams.

White House Spokesman, Andrew Bates, added, “A wide variety of specialists from the Walter Reed system visit the White House complex to treat the thousands of military personnel who work on the grounds.”

President’s Health Report

The latest health report from President Biden’s physician, Dr. Kevin O’Connor, indicated that Biden had been screened for several neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s, with negative results.

The report detailed that specialists, including a movement-disorder neurologist, reviewed Biden’s stiff gait, concluding it was due to “wear and tear” on his spine, not a neurological condition.

Joe Biden Debate Performance and Health Scrutiny

Following his debate performance, Biden’s health and mental acuity have been intensely scrutinized. In a recent interview with ABC, Biden stated that he is regularly seen by White House doctors and undergoes extensive testing.

When asked specifically about tests for cognitive capability, Biden responded, “No one said I had to… they said I’m good.”

Biden’s Response to Specific Health Questions

During an interview with MSNBC’s Mika Brzezinski, Biden confirmed that he had undergone tests for age-related illnesses.

“Have you been tested for any age-related illness, pre-Parkinson’s, or anything like that?” Brzezinski asked. Biden replied, “I had before,” adding that he felt unwell before the debate, prompting tests that all came back clear.

The White House and Biden campaign have attributed Biden’s debate performance to his packed travel schedule and a cold.

Despite the speculations, Biden remains committed to his presidential campaign, with his medical team affirming his good health.

The White House continues to address concerns transparently, aiming to reassure the public about President Joe Biden’s capability to serve another term.
