Leading the pack of home based players picked by Addo is Benjamin Asare who plies his trade with Accra Hearts of Oak and Kwame Opoku who plays for Asante Kotoko, two popular clubs whose names ring a bell in CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup respectively.

Other home based players who made the squad are Razak Simpson from Nations FC and Kamaradini Mamudu of  Medeama SC.

Conspicuously missing from the squad is Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, easily remembered for his 14th minute goal from outside the box that stopped Eagles from heading to the Qatar world Cup in the play-off at the Abuja Stadium.

Although the tournament is aimed at fostering friendship, it promises to be full of fireworks as every contest between the two West African countries always goes to the wire, whether or not something is at stake.

Aside from Ghana and Nigeria, the Unity Cup also features the Reggae Boyz of Jamaica and the Soca Warriors of Trinidad and Tobago.

Meanwhile, former Super Eagles coach, Sunday Oliseh, has bagged International Football Association Board (IFAB) job. The organization is responsible for overseeing and establishing the laws of football globally.
