Reports suggest that the young student’s decision to end his life may have been prompted by various pressures, including social circles and financial struggles. Speculations within the class WhatsApp platform indicated that he had been battling depression, likely exacerbated by his inability to secure funds for his academic pursuits.

One of Emmanuel’s secondary school classmates, who wishes to remain anonymous, revealed that he had been grappling with depression for some time, even expressing concerns about feeling targeted by certain groups and celebrities. Despite attempts by this classmate to reach out and offer support, Emmanuel chose to keep his feelings bottled up.

He said: “it is shocking to me to hear his death. He was my secondary school classmate at Mafogram Secondary school.”
