The university’s management has completed investigations into the situation and engaged with both the student and the video’s producer.

The affected student has since moved from the flooded building featured in the video to a guardian’s home. She has also accepted the university’s offer of on-campus accommodation for the remainder of her studies at UNILAG.
“I am deeply grateful to everyone who has donated and supported me during this difficult time,” she said. Donations to her and the video producer have reached millions of naira, thanks to the generosity of the public.

UNILAG’s management has advised those wishing to help indigent students to verify appeals through the Students Affairs Division. “We appreciate the willingness of individuals and organizations to assist our students,” the university said. “However, it is crucial that all donations are verified to ensure they are directed to those who truly need them.”
