“The objective is to encourage clubs and players whose contracts are expiring to find an appropriate solution to facilitate the players’ participation,” added FIFA.

“This will ensure that the best players will be playing, allowing clubs to add new recruits even during the tournament.”

The 2025 Club World Cup will feature 32 teams from across the globe and run from June 14 to July 13 in the United States.

Real Madrid are reigning Champions of the Club World cup and will be hoping re-claim the title as the participate in this expanded edition

Real Madrid, as European champion, will start with an initial guaranteed amount of 35 million euros. Meanwhile, Atlético de Madrid—another of the qualifiers—will have 20 million euros fixed.

The new tournament format has a structure similar to the World Cup for national teams. There will be a group stage and knockout rounds.

Each phase surpassed has an assigned extra prize for advancing. The tournament could mean a huge windfall for Real Madrid, whose coach, Carlo Ancelotti, is expected to take over as Brazil Coach after the Club World Cup.

If Real Madrid manages to lift the title, the earnings would be historic. Adding the fixed amount (35m euros) plus the amounts for each phase surpassed, the total would reach 145 million euros.
