Transfer Update: Man City Sign Algerian Left Back Ait-Nouri For £36M

Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Algeria and Wolverhampton Wanderers left back Rayan Ait-Nouri.

The defender completed gos medicals over the weekend and the deal was confirmed on Monday evening by the former Premier League champions.

The deal which sees the player sign for five years at the Etihad is worth £31m base transfer + £5m in potential add-ons bringing the total to £36m.

The club’s official statement on Monday read: Ait-Nouri will take part in our FIFA Club World Cup campaign.

June 18 vs Wydad AC, Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia, PA

June 22 vs Al Anin, Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, GA

June 26 vs Juventus, Camping World Stadium, Orlando, FL.

The left back’s arrival not only responds to a specific need for the Club World Cup in the USA but also represents a structural change in Guardiola’s defence.

City lost their Premier League champions’ status last season to Liverpool coming third behind the Reds and Arsenal.

The Cityzens in January conducted some transfer businesses bringing on established players like Omar Marmouch and Nico Gonzalez.
