1. PDP Crisis: Damagum Replaces Iyorchia Ayu As Acting Chairman

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) National Working Committee (NWC) has appointed the Deputy National Chairman (North), Amb Umar Damagum, to replace Senator Iyorchia Ayu, as the national chairman in acting capacity.

2. Nigeria’s Presidency: We’ll Oppose Interim Government – Sen Adeyeye

National Coordinator of South West Agenda for Asiwaju (SWAGA), Senator Dayo Adeyeye, has said that lovers of democracy in the country will oppose constitution of any interim government ahead of the May 29 presidential inauguration.

Adeyeye cautioned those calling for an interim government as a way of placating the grievances of certain politicians following the outcome of the February 25 Presidential Election.

3. Ortom withdraws petition against Senator-Elect Zam

Benue Governor Samuel Ortom said he has withdrawn his petition against the election of Senator-Elect Chief Titus Zam of the All Progressive Congress (APC). The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Zam as Senator-Elect for Benue North West.

Zam polled 143,141 votes to defeat Governor Samuel Ortom of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with 106,880 votes.
