The former governor of Ekiti State and chairman of the Nigerian Governors Forum (NGF), Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his Supreme Court victory.

He said that the apex court ruling was an example of the values of justice and fairness.

Fayemi stated that the victory has further validated the win of President Tinubu at the polls, which was a testament to the faith Nigerians have in the APC and in the president’s ability to steer the ship of the state.

In a statement released on Friday, October 27, by Mallam Ahmad Sajoh, Head, Fayemi Media Office, Abuja, the ex-governor was quoted warning that, “In celebrating the President’s victory, we must also be mindful of the need to avoid triumphalism.’’

While acknowledging the importance of running an inclusive government Fayemi encouraged President Tinubu to reach out to his rivals in politics and promote harmony in order to adopt the attitude of inclusion.

According to Fayemi, the rise of one political party in a democracy does not always mean that others are losing; rather, it may be considered as an opportunity to collaborate for the benefit of the entire nation.

He stressed that in order to minimize any distractions the appellants should support the President in the task of leading Nigeria. “All hands must be on deck at this moment,” He advised.

“As we move forward, it is essential that we prioritize the development, security, and prosperity of Nigeria above all else. I urge the President to use his victory as an opportunity to heal the divisions in our country and to build a more prosperous and inclusive Nigeria for all,’’ he added.
