President Bola Tinubu has sent the second list of ministerial nominees to the Nigerian Senate.

Chief of staff to President Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, on Wednesday, sent the list containing 19 nominees to president of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio.

Gbajiabiamila, the immediate past Speaker of the House of Representatives, entered the Senate chamber at 3.15 pm to present the list after the upper house invoked its Order 12(i) to allow his entry.

Recall that President Tinubu had on Thursday, 27 July, presented the first list of 28 ministerial nominees to the Senate for screening.

The screening of Ministerial Nominees which started on Monday has seen over 20 of them screened.

Those screened today are Dele Alake (Ekiti); Muhammad Idris (Niger); Lateef Fagbemi SAN (Kwara); Professor Ali Pate Bauchi; and Doris Anite Uzoka (Imo).

Fagbemi was standing before the Senators for screening when the Chief of staff came into the Chamber.

The senate president after concluding the screening of nominees slated for the day, read out the names of the new nominees.

The nominees are: Ahmed Tijani Kwazo, Bosun Tijani, Dr Isiak Salako, Dr Tunji Alausa, Dr Yusuf Tanko Sununu, Adegboyega Oyetola, Atiku Bagudu, Bello Mattawale, Ibrahaim Gaidam, Simon Lalong, Lola Ade John.
Others are Dr Mariam Shetti, Prince Shuaibu Abubakar Audu, Prof Taye Mamman, Sen Sabi Abdullahi, Senator Alkali Ahmed Saidu, Senator Heineken Lokpobori, Uba Maigari Ahmadu and Zephaniah Bitrus Jisalo.

The senate adjourned sitting to Friday, August 4, for a continuation of screening of the remaining nominees.
