In a stunning twist, a woman’s uncontrollable shouting cries at her police officer husband’s funeral turned out to be a heartless ruse, as she was arrested shortly after for orchestrating his brutal murder.

The police officer, Constable Banele Sikhosana, an Ekurhuleni Metropolitan Police Department (EMPD), South Africa, was brutally shot on 7 February 2025.

Sikhosana was said to have been shot while opening his tuck shop in Rest in Kwa-Thema, Ekurhuleni. The killers reportedly made away with his service pistol.

Law enforcement authorities, acting on intelligence, later arrested a man identified as Nhlizitozabantu Magwanyana, at the Kwa-Thema Hostel, who confessed to carrying out the killing.

In a video shared on social media, the wife was seen crying profusely as the police procession was going on during the husband’s funeral. This extreme display of emotion to demonstrate how painful she felt about the death of the husband would ordinarily not give any iota of doubt about her culpability in the tragic incident.

However, a preliminary investigation linked her to the killing.
