Taraba Governor Mourns Passing Of Ex-PDP Chairman Victor Bala Kona

Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba State, Victor Bala Kona, has passed away.

Mr Kona, who served as the PDP Chairman from March 2012 to August 2020, breathed his last on Sunday, August 27, 2023, in Abuja after a brief illness.

Media aide to Taraba State Governor Agbu Kefas, Emmanuel Bello, conveyed the sad news in a press statement, expressing profound sorrow over the loss.

“We didn’t only lose a political icon but a father and a consummate family man,” said Bello.

“Hon. Victor Bala Kona’s place in our history is one that is assured and would be respected at all times. His death came at a time his wealth of experience and knowledge would be most needed.”

Governor Kefas extended heartfelt condolences to Kona’s family and everyone affected by the loss. The Public Relations Officer of the PDP in the state, Andeta’rang Irammae, also issued a press statement, expressing the party’s grief and offering prayers for Kona’s soul.

Kona’s tenure as Chairman was marked by tireless efforts to enhance the party’s growth and sustained leadership in the state. He handed over the reins to Kefas before stepping down to run for the governorship position under the party’s banner, a position he won.

The passing of Victor Bala Kona is being mourned not only as a loss to the political sphere but also as the departure of a wise and experienced leader. His contributions to the PDP and the state’s governance will be remembered and respected in the annals of history.
